ObjectiveS

In general, the Conference aims to create a forum of scientists, engineers and rural and urban development professionals, along with members of the WAFLA consortium, to make an inventory of the current state of knowledge through presentations, to discuss future trends under a ‘business as usual’ scenario, and identify concepts and pathways to enhance Integrated Water Resource Management in Agro- Forestry.

  • Present results of the WAFLA coordination action on the application of tools and methods to evaluate the impact of improved Agroforestry systems on livelihoods and integrated water management in arid and semi-arid areas.• Present the lessons learned from successful agroforestry systems in terms of their economic, social and environmental impacts.
  • Reflect on the potential barriers for the adoption of successful management practices in agroforestry systems in sub/humid, semi/arid and Arid regions in Latin America.• Identify policies and incentive mechanisms for the adoption of improved agroforestry systems in sub/humid, semi/arid and Arid regions in Latin America.
